Resort “pick up” fees
Some resorts like South Seas Resort on Captiva Island will allow a fishing guide to pick up a guest at their dock, but charge a fee to do so. Therefore, if you are staying at South Seas or any other resort that charges a “pick up” fee and would like to be picked up at that resort, that fee will be added to the charter fee.
I don’t make the rules but I must obey them.
Easy Payments & Convenient Meeting Spots
For payment, I accept cash, checks, PayPal, Venmo, and most major credit cards, including American Express and Bitcoin.
We typically meet at the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp at 18500 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33908, right before the toll booth to Sanibel. Remember to take the last right before the bridge to prevent any toll misadventures. There’s a $10 parking charge, but it’s a small price for a day of unforgettable memories.
HOWEVER, since Hurricane Ian, this boat ramp has been closed to the public and we are not sure when it will open. I do however, have a very convenient meeting location that is just minutes from the above-mentioned boat ramp and is on the mainland side of the causeway.
I will text you the address of this meeting location prior to your fishing trip date.

NOTE: Capt. Paul Hobby is a full-time guide and will firmly commit to the dates you reserve. He truly enjoys what he does (his dream job); however, it’s also how he pays his bills. Likewise, and in all fairness, any charter that is canceled with less than 14 days’ notice will forfeit the deposit unless he can reschedule the day with another angler. Capt. Paul Hobby will never put any pressure on you to go fishing when the weather is potentially unsafe or just not fun. However, windy days are typical in Florida, especially if you mention the word “fly rod.”
